Itinerary
Day One: We begin with a pleasant woodland walk that leads on to the Western way and finishes on the outskirts of Leenane Village. The walk is on mainly good track with good underfoot conditions and a tiny section of bog. Distance 8 miles, Height Gain minimal, Time 4 hours approx.
Day Two: We visit Connemara National Park where a well defined path takes us to the summit of Diamond Hill. From the summit at 440 metres the views on offer are wonderful with Kylemore Abbey in particular to the fore. Distance 5 miles, Height Gain 440 metres, Time 3 - 4 hours approx.
Walking Grade
The walks planned will not exceed 8 miles in length and no more than 4 hours in duration. Proper walking boots (with ankle support) are advised as the trails may cross areas where there are loose stone and places that are wet and boggy.
Please Note that we also offer a range of high level walks in the Maumturks and Bens for groups of a similar fitness level - Mweelrea Mountain, the highest in the province.
